We have an opportunity to learn more than ever. Now it sounds like the government is becoming more serious about what we can learn here. It's phenomenal
On September 12, 2022, the Department of Defense said it has a treasure trove of UAP videos but won't release them for national security reasons. Can we now all agree that the DOD knows exactly what they are? Can we also agree that the intelligence gathering methods are NOT the reason for secrecy? Can we stop pretending these issues exist, and stop playing-along with it?
When one applies the Drake equation, results imply at least the possibility that Earth has been visited by extraterrestrials. If this is the case, the technology required for their visitation of Earth would be hundreds, thousands, or millions of years more advanced than our own. Therefore, we must consider that any information transfer between aliens and humans would be at best minimal, and at worst, lethal (Think of trying to train a dog to fly a B-52 using only disruptive human thoughts without the dog knowing it must retain a portion of its brain for functionality).

You are so right! The members were not well prepared. Pathetically unprepared in fact. Nevertheless, the provisions in the pending DoD and IC bills regarding Amnesty and a GAO document review are unprecedented and could very lead to genuine transparency. Let's hope so. Meanwhile we need to keep pressing ahead.
